THE BUSINESS OF INTERIORS COMMUNITY SUMMIT

June 4th 2024 : Romo Ltd, East Midlands

June 6th 2024 : Fiona Barratt-Campbell, Pimlico Road London

Two days of expert presentations, panelist discussions, networking and community hosted in London and the East Midlands.

This event is brought to you by The Business Of Interiors and the Design Biz Survival Guide.

ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Running a business can be isolating, it can feel lonely and I am no stranger to the toll that running a business can take on your mental and physical health, family life and more. I often wonder if this toll wouldn’t feel as heavy if an event existed where Interior Designer’s unite and lean on each other to navigate those challenges that we all face on a day to day basis? The first step to feeling stronger in your business is investing in yourself.

Together we will unite design entrepreneurs at two UK venues, providing exclusive access to a series of empowering panels, from top PR strategists, to some of the most notable founders within our industry. I have planned each day to be unique, ensuring that Designers attending both venues will achieve the maximum benefit that they can from the summit. The structure of the event will intentionally dismantle some of those barriers that have for such a long time defined the Interior Design industry, leaving the scarcity mindset behind and focusing upon growth, kinship and the benefits of a community. Our guests will empower you to do much more than merely scratch the surface of how you approach your design business, each one will generously share their personal experiences of success, and with every anecdote and conversation comes an opportunity for you to build upon your own strategy towards achieving and surpassing your business goals.  My goal is for you to leave this event feeling empowered, more knowledgable and stronger by being part of a community.

Together we can be stronger. I cannot wait for you to join me, lets get this conversation started!

MEET YOUR HOSTS

In 2012, Rachel established her design practice Rachel Usher Interior Design as a 'solopreneur,' gradually evolving it into a distinguished and award-winning studio that handled significant luxury projects. Her personal experience was that the business aspects of running an Interior Design company were shrouded in secrecy. It seemed that many designers, having endured challenges on their own paths to success, guarded their achievements, perhaps out of a sense of protecting their hard-earned positions.

Rachel believes that there is a better way for Interior Designers to thrive and to conduct business. She established the Business of Interiors in 2023 alongside running Rachel Usher Interior Design in order to build a sense of community, creating a place where the founders and leaders of Design practices could turn for shared experiences, learning and kinship with other designers.

Rick Campos is a self proclaimed recovering interior designer, podcast host, and design business coach on a mission to support and promote the rise of the interior design community. Before becoming a leader in the design industry Rick championed his own residential design business for six years and then joined forces with a fellow designer and practiced for another 6 years, first as an associate designer and ultimately as a director of business development. His daily interaction with clients, builders, architects, vendors, and artisans contributes to a broad perspective of the design industry. In 2018, faced with an opportunity for reinvention, Rick traded his tape measure for a microphone and launched the Design Biz Survival Guide, a multi faceted platform that includes a podcast, business coaching, and a lecture series all designed to inform and inspire interior design professionals.
